Color : White solid powder Chemical Name: Sodium sulfite, Who Appearance : Legal Formula : Na2SO3 Packaging Type : 25 kg. in bags Properties : E221 is the sodium salt of sulfuric acid.
Usage areas of Sodium sulfite
Properties: Easily soluble in water. Its aqueous solutions are alkaline, and sodium sulfate forms rapidly when left in air. Sodium sulfite is a reducing, bleaching and sulfidizing agent and acts as a preservative. If treated with strong acids, sulfur dioxide is released. Elemental sulfur dissolves in aqueous solutions of sodium sulfide with the formation of sodium thiosulfate. The concentration of sodium sulfide in solutions of various concentrations is given in the table below.
Sodium sulfide (Na2SO3), a soluble sodium salt of sulfuric acid, shows blunting, desulfurizing and dechlorinating properties, which are widely applied in various fields. It is first used in the pulp and papermaking industry for its flaking activity. It can be used as a good additive to help maintain the fresh appearance of good products. Also, sodium sulfite is a component of many pharmaceuticals that are effective for maintaining the potency and stability of drugs. It can also be applied as an oxygen scavenging agent in water treatment, and used in flue gas desulfurization and photo-enhancing solutions, etc. It can be applied for protection.
